Designer Spotlight: Temperley London

Happy Monday!

Have you guys ever prepared photos and topics for a blog post, but never get around to actually working on it and posting it? That's what happened to this particular post -- I prepared it way back in January, forgot about it, and just barely saw it now. So, here we go! ;)

I absolutely love Temperley London's designs -- they are beautiful, feminine, and they seem to flatter almost everyone.

“She has a head for business and a heart that appreciates what women really want. Her style is unconstrained and you feel she has no desire to follow the leaders. Accordingly, her creations, which are governed by elegance rather than the fickle demands of trend-setting, are granted a rare longevity.”
-- Susannah Constantine and Trinny Woodall (The Daily Telegraph), on designer Alice Temperley

Designer Spotlight: Reem Acra

Yay for Friday! :D

There are so many topics I want to incorporate into my blog posts, but so little time to actually make those posts. I actually have a list of blog topics on my phone, but then I forgot about that so I made another list on a piece of paper, and then I lost that paper. Haha. Anyways, long story short, I realized it's been months since I last made a Designer Spotlight post. So for today, let's look at Reem Acra's creations. :)

Reem Acra's designs epitomize global glamour - her regal designs are developed with a modern aesthetic.
She entered the world of fashion in 1997 with her first bridal collection.
Let's take a peek at the wedding dresses from her recent and current collections.

I love the skirt of this dress!

A sweetheart neckline is my favorite. :)

This is definitely something I would wear.

So simple and beautiful!

I love the crystal-encrusted shrug.

This looks perfect for a beach wedding, or maybe if you want to change into another dress for your reception. :)

Interesting detail on the skirt. :)

If you want a little color on your wedding dress...
Then, in 2004, she debuted a ready-to-wear collection, featuring meticulously constructed designs ranging from understated chic to the ornate. Her designs are marked by rich color, lush fabrics, flawless construction, and playful patterns.

This royal blue is a breathtakingly gorgeous color. I love it!

This dress is so simple and elegant.

Green: another beautiful color!

This reminds me of one of the dresses Anne Hathaway wore for the Oscars.

Some of her celebrity clients include Angelina Jolie, Halle Berry, Beyonce, Catherine Zeta-Jones,

Olivia Wilde, Rumer Willis, Eva Longoria,

Emma Roberts, and

Leighton Meester.

What do you think of Reem Acra's creations? Which dresses did you like?

Have a fantastic weekend, everyone!

Designer Spotlight: Monique Lhuillier

It's been quite a while since my last wedding fashion-related post. I remember fellow blogger Carrie at http://readmylifeascarrie.blogspot.com/ requesting a post on gowns by Monique Lhuillier. So, Carrie, here it is! :D

I love her designs. They are very pretty and delicate. When I get married in the distant future, I would love to wear one of her gowns. :D

Monique Lhuillier (look at how pretty that dress behind her is!)

Her designs are often described as "mostly sophisticated and fluid". Her collections have "ruffles, bows, and pleats in soft fabric".

I've also noticed that a lot of her gowns have crystals. Here is my personal favorite:

I love this one too:

She adds character to her dresses by adding colored bows/bands like these:

Another thing I love are her Grace Kelly-esque wedding gowns.

Here are two more of her lovely designs:

Numerous celebrities have also chosen to wear Monique Lhuillier for their big day.

Pink

Britney Spears
(We always knew it would end in divorce...)

Kevin Costner and wife, Christine Baumgartner

Heidi Montag (Okay, this one really isn't a celebrity, but her dress was pretty. Haha.)

*Carrie Underwood, who got married this past Saturday, also wore a Monique Lhuillier gown. I wonder how it looks like. :)*
Lhuillier also designs evening gowns. Many of her dresses were worn by celebrities on the red carpet.

Teri Hatcher

Debra Messing

Kelly Clarkson and Kate Walsh
