2010 Teen Choice Awards (better late than never, haha!)

Happy Wednesday! We are now halfway done with the week! :)

So, this past Monday, the 2010 Teen Choice Awards was shown on TV. Here are some pictures from the "red carpet" (well, blue carpet in these photos; green carpet for Leighton Meester):

Leighton Meester (wearing Emilio Pucci)

Shailene Woodley (I like her shoes!)

Selena Gomez (Interesting shoes, huh?)

Kristen Bell (wearing Stella McCartney)

Kim Kardashian (wearing Zuhair Murad)

I saw this picture, and I just had to post it:

Don't they look just like a normal family? I like watching Keeping Up With The Kardashians and Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami. The relationship between the sisters (and with their brother, Rob) reminds me of the relationship between my siblings and me - minus all the controversies and DUIs and stuff like that, of course. Haha! :)

And, who doesn't love these swoon-worthy Glee boys?! I love love love Finn, but I have to say, once Puck sings, aahh, I don't even know what to say. Haha. ;)

Cory Monteith :)

Mark Salling

He's got this "bad boy" appeal going on, but did you know that he's only had two serious girlfriends?! And he has a solo album coming out, so Puck fans, watch out for it. :D

Dickinson's Original Witch Hazel Pore Perfecting Toner Review

Happy Monday!!! I hope everyone had a good start to this new week. Let's enjoy the last few weeks of summer! :D

I just finished watching the new episode of The Secret Life of the American Teenager - one of my all-time favorite TV shows! Do you watch that show? I love it! I really really want Ricky and Amy to finally be together, I've been waiting how many seasons for that! Haha. But I hope he finally becomes a one-woman man. Seriously. They look great together. Okay, I've gushed enough.

This morning, I realized that I am almost finished with my 16 fl. oz. bottle of Dickinson's Original Witch Hazel Pore Perfecting Toner. I have to get another one! Yup, it's that good, I really have to get my hands on another one.

*image from Google*

This pore perfecting toner gives you a clean so pure, it leaves nothing behind. Its 100% Natural Witch Hazel Formula tightens and refines pores, gently removing excess oil, dirt, and makeup residue without overdrying - for evenly toned and beautifully smooth skin everyday.

  • non-drying, for all skin types, gently cleanses + conditions pores to maintain clear, smooth, and balanced skin

  • 100% all natural

Directions: Use daily after cleansing or before applying skin treatments. Moisten a cotton ball or pad and apply to face and neck. For best results, use in the AM to prepare & PM to repair.

Okay, with all that good stuff describing this toner, aren't you kinda wanting to try it (if you haven't already)?

All I can say is it's the best! I use it every morning and night, and anytime I wash my face in between. It does almost everything mentioned above. In addition to my face and neck, I also apply it to my nape and the back of my ears (both neglected areas, in my opinion). It is surprising how much more traces of makeup are left even after using makeup remover wipes and washing our face. I feel like my skin is totally cleansed after using this toner.

Another thing I've noticed is that I don't break out as much anymore. I get the occasional pimples every month - but, now I only get 1 (2 at the most) as opposed to my usual 3 or 4. And those monthly pimples now disappear faster! How cool! My skin is softer, smoother, and healthier-looking. :D

About the moisture part... it really is non-drying. Unless it's winter, of course. In the winter, I use a moisturizer after the toner. During hot weather, I don't really have to use a moisturizer because my skin isn't really that "thirsty". I just apply moisturizer to dry areas.

I got mine at Walgreens for $4.99. Super affordable! And it really lasts long. I've had mine for, give or take, 5 months, and now I have about 1/4 left.

One problem I can think of that some may find is the smell. It has this earthy, alcohol smell to it. My sister cannot stand it. At first, I had to hold my breath when I put this on. But it grows on you, well, at least it did for me, haha. Now, I love the smell. ;)

Another problem that I've heard others say about it is that it doesn't really make their pores smaller. I can't really say if it did or did not for me because, honestly, I haven't really paid that much attention to my pores. But, the way I see it is that all the good stuff it does really outweighs this little problem.

Hmm, I think I've said pretty much all I wanted to say. Haha. Oh, random fact: Witch hazel is a genus of flowering plants in the family Hamamelidaceae. I'm not entirely sure what that means, but here is a picture:

Have you tried this toner before? What do you think of it? What is your favorite toner?

You're Going Places, Baby! Award and Love The Way You Lie Music Video

Happy Sunday, my dear friends! I hope everyone had a lovely weekend. :D

I will be giving away the "You're going places, Baby" award! Special thanks to Cafe Bellini for giving me this award. I hope you have a wonderful time in the south of France! :)

Rules:

Thank the person who gave you this award. Get the award icon. Share with us where you see yourself in ten years. Pass on the award.

In ten years, I will be 30 years old. I hope that by that time I will be established in my chosen career, be happily married, have a healthy and cute baby (or two), and live in a beautiful home - starting out with a new chapter in my life. But, of course, before that, I plan to enjoy my twenties - travel, work, explore, have fun, do everything that I want to do - so that by that time, I will be completely ready to be a wife and mom. :D

I pass this award on to these lovely ladies:

I am sure all of us are going places, so really, this award is for everyone. Tell us where you see yourself in ten years. :D

In another note, have you seen the official music video of Eminem and Rihanna's Love The Way You Lie? Here it is:

Many are not too happy about the message of this video. I can understand that sentiment. As a whole, I thought the video is creative and well-made - it feels like I'm watching a movie or a TV show (because Megan Fox and Dominic Monaghan are in it, haha), BUT I really wish Megan Fox's character left at the end of the video to show that women (and men, too) should stand up and find the courage to leave an abusive relationship. And I also agree that the video is too violent for younger teens. What do you think?

Emma Watson: New hair and a Polyvore outfit :)

I hope everyone had a good Thursday. TGIF, right?! I still really can't wrap my head around how fast time goes by. It's the weekend again, really???!!! Not that I'm complaining, but woah, that was fast! Where did summer go? :O

I wanted to do a beach Polyvore outfit to celebrate the last few weeks to be spent at the beach, but then I decided to do an Emma Watson-inspired outfit instead because I went to Yahoo! and I saw this:

Emma Watson's new hair.
What do you guys think? Opinions?

When I saw this, I was like "Woah, really?!" I'm not sure if I love it, or like it, or don't like it. All I know is she has guts! That is such a drastic change. I know it's just hair, but to cut your hair that short? Wow, this girl has guts and self-confidence. We're the same age, but I don't know if I can ever get the courage to cut my hair like that.

If not for a new role, I'm thinking she did that to free herself from being seen as Hermione Granger. I don't know, but as a big Harry Potter fan, I'm kinda sad because this is like a big reminder, that yes, Harry Potter is on its last two movies. *sniff, sniff*

But anyways, if she feels good about it and if it works well for her, then I'm all for it. It is her hair, after all. ;)

Now, on to the Polyvore outfit inspired by this:

Emma

It was fun seeing these 3 colors in one outfit. I don't know if I can pull this off, but I sure know there are a lot who can. Maybe I'll wear something like this when I'm a little older. :)

I think because the colors are really bright and loud, simple gold stud earrings would do (if we have these Chanel ones, even better!).

I've started using red lipstick, and I am loving it. It makes me feel grown-up, fabulous, and more out there. I've always loved how clean and polished red nails look. And I've also been wearing my yellow wedges, now if only I can find pumps like this. :D

Anyways, I think I should go sleep now. I wish everyone a wonderful Friday and an even more wonderful weekend! :D

Salon Grafix Spray Powder Shampoo Review

Happy Monday, everyone! I hope everyone had a lovely weekend. Now, another week is on, and oh, it's August! :O

This past Saturday, I was just hanging out in our couch with a book and planning to paint my nails. Then my Mom suddenly announces that we were gonna go to a party. I'm like "What? What time?" And then she goes, "in an hour". I don't know, but to me, an hour is not enough. I need to shower, get dressed, put some makeup on, and fix my hair... plus, I still needed to paint my toe nails (I ended up wearing ballet flats even though I wanted to wear sandals, haha).

Anyways, what I'm trying to say with that little story is that my Salon Grafix Spray Powder Shampoo comes in handy during times like that. I've read somewhere that we're not supposed to wash our hair everyday because it will dry our scalp, and natural oil is good for our hair. But of course, we wouldn't want to go out with greasy hair, right? Thank heavens, there are spray powder/ dry shampoos available! :D

Photobucket

Salon Grafix Spray Powder Shampoo, with its color match formula, is perfect for cleansing and refreshing your hair between normal shampoos or when you are on the go.

•Easily brushes off
•Leaves hair revitalized
•No white powder
•No oil residue
•Clean and shiny hair

*from http://www.salongrafix.com/*

Salon Styling Tip: Hair powdering is a current salon technique that creates fullness and blends roots.

Directions: Shake can very well. Cover and protect clothing before spraying. Hold can 6" to 8" away from hair and spray in quick short bursts. Apply to roots by section or layer. Wait one minute to dry, then brush hair thoroughly.

Important: Wash the Spray Powder Shampoo thoroughly out of the hair before bleaching, dyeing, or perming.

*from actual Spray Powder Shampoo label*

I divide my hair into sections and then spray my roots. When I've finally sprayed all layers that I want to cover, I use my fingers to comb my hair (kinda like when we put real shampoo on). After that, I style my hair however I want it to look.

It does take the grease off and makes my hair look a little more refreshed. BUT, of course, not as fresh as after a shower. That being said, I do think that it is good for times when we just don't have the time to go through the whole washing, blow drying our hair, and doing all that good stuff. It's perfect for busy school and/or work days.

It gives my hair a little more volume, a little more "oomph". However, the first few times I used it, my hair got a little bit stiff. I'm not sure why that happened, but as I use it more and more, it seems to be getting better for me.

About the smell... it doesn't really have a specific fragrance, but I find that it smells powder-y. It is spray powder though, so maybe that's why. Haha. It doesn't smell that bad, but it's also not the best smell in the world. Some might be okay with it, some may think it smells bad.

The actuator ("sprayer" as I like to call it, haha) may clog sometimes, the label says to "rinse it under a stream of water" when that happens.

My sister got me the one for brunette shades. I find that it does cover my darker roots a bit, but only for a while.

There are also other shades available:
for Blonde shades

for Black shades

for Silver shades

Final verdict: It's a good product. It definitely does its job. It's good to have one of these handy. However, it's not something super important to my everyday routine that I'm gonna really really need to get a new one (after I finish the one I have) right away. Maybe it will be more important and more useful for me as I get busier with life. ;) I think it fits the needs of different people in different ways. I do recommend getting one and trying it out because it might be the perfect product for you. And it's affordable, definitely under $10. :)

Have you tried this Spray Powder Shampoo or some other dry shampoo? What do you think? How did it work out for you?

Have a wonderful week, everyone! :D
