Today I woke up to a chilly morning - complete with gray clouds. In other words, it looked like it was going to be an overcast, gloomy day. I decided I was going to wait it out, see if the sun is going to come out, before I picked my outfit for school. At about 11am, it was still cold and the clouds were still there. So, I decided to wear something like this:
I wore black leggings, a yellow tunic/ long tank top, navy cardigan, a black scarf, and black ballet flats. I was kinda going for a comfy/ laidback chilly day look.
I gotta tell you, I got excited to bust out my leggings and scarves. That is why it was such a bummer that the sun started to come out. By the time I got to school, it was full-on sunny... with the occasional "kinda cold" breeze. Thank God our classroom A/C was on full blast. Phew.
And right now, we're back to gloomy, chilly weather. *Sigh*
In other news, a while back, I won Pelin's giveaway. It took me quite some time before I finally got around to having the photos ready.
I got so excited when I received the package! :D
This was my third giveaway win.
I got three lip balms! :)
Winning and hosting a giveaway are so exciting! :D
What was your first giveaway win? If you've had more than one, which one is the most memorable?
If you haven't won one yet, don't worry, you will win one soon! :)

Have a great week, everyone!
Hi everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!
I spent parts of Friday and Saturday watching some DVDs with my siblings. One movie I watched is Driving Lessons - a 2006 British film starring Julie Walters, Laura Linney, and Rupert Grint.
A coming of age story about a shy teenage boy who tries to escape from his domineering mother.
Here is the trailer:
Shy and downtrodden Ben dreads yet another dreary school holiday coming around. Seventeen years of living in an absurdly conservative and traditional household with his highly-strung and overbearing mother and quiet, mild mannered vicar father have taken its toll on young Ben. While the other kids are out having fun, Ben spends these precious few weeks attending bible classes, having driving lessons with his mother and helping out at a local old people's home. However, Ben's world is turned upside down when he's employed by an eccentric retired actress Evie. Vulgar, dignified and childish all at once, she certainly is not the kind of person Ben expected when searching through the job listings in the stuffy parish magazine, "Hello Jesus". Evie enters Ben's life with a cataclysmic force, whisking him away on a series of adventures from camping, to performing Shakespeare in the garden, to attending the Edinburgh festival--where he finally meets a girl much nearer his own age. Evie's unconventional and often downright bizarre behavior challenges Ben's beliefs, and forces him to confront the very idea of who he wants to be. Then, when it seems that his new-found freedom is about to be taken away, Ben has to suddenly choose; should he continue to conform, or break out and live his life as his own man?

I have to admit, I borrowed this DVD because Rupert Grint and Julie Walters are in it - I may have mentioned one too many times that I am a HUGE HARRY POTTER FAN. I love them as Ron and Mrs. Weasley.
I wasn't expecting a masterpiece when I watched this - mainly because I haven't really heard much about it. It was a pretty good movie, though. It gave me a glimpse of life in England. It was a change in the kind of movies I watch. It's not the typical chick flick I love, but it definitely has its charm.
Rupert Grint and Julie Walters work well together. :)
Her lines and impeccable timing, together with his aloof, horrified, and funny expressions will make you laugh.

There are also moments that will touch your heart.
Laura Linney did a good job playing Ben's (Rupert) overbearing mother. I've read some reviews talking about how she could've done a better job with her accent in this movie - I didn't really notice, so no problem there for me. ;)
You'll be annoyed at her, you'll laugh at her, you'll feel a teeny bit sorry for her. I don't think she'll be an Academy Award Nominated actress for nothing. Both her and Julie Walters were brilliant.

Rupert Grint also did a great job. For a moment there I forgot all about Ron Weasley. Gone was the goofy and loveably funny best friend of Harry Potter - it was the shy, aloof Ben that was there. I do think there's more out there for Rupert after Harry Potter.
It's not the best movie, but I definitely do not regret watching it. I suggest seeing it when you have extra time on your hands. :D
Have you seen this movie? What did you think of it?
Would you consider watching it?
Have a fabulous week, everyone! :D

Now, even though I think they could've done a much better video, there is no denying that I love this song. To me, this is the official song of Summer 2010! What's yours? :D
Let's say hello to Autumn/Fall 2010, everyone! :D
"Winter is an etching, spring a watercolor, summer an oil painting
and autumn a mosaic of them all."
- Stanley Horowitz
(from http://www.egreenway.com/)
Okay, well, we really don't get those gorgeous orange leaves here in California... but, they're just so beautiful to look at. And yeah, another thing, it will probably still feel like summer until maybe late October/ early November. Haha, oh California, how I love you.
But nevertheless, I am excited to wear something like that outfit above... maybe in December when it gets really cold, haha! ;)
I can't wait to wear these...
and these...

I don't really have a song for Fall, but these are the stuff I'm excited for:
Glee comes back on September 21st!
Both Grey's Anatomy and The Mentalist comes back on September 23rd!
Another favorite of mine, Ghost Adventures, comes back tonight! :D
What TV shows are you excited for?
What will you miss the most about Summer 2010? What are you looking forward to this coming Fall?

Have a happy and relaxing weekend, my loves! Enjoy our offiicial last weekend of summer! :D

2. Hanging out with my friends. Everytime we're all home (Spring Break, Summer, Thanksgiving, Christmas...), we all try to spend a whole day together to catch up with each other. I miss my friends. Thank God I have blogger friends! :D
Do you guys remember these photos that were on everyone's Facebooks? The one where we tag all our friends?

I think in my group of friends I would be The Diva, haha! Which one are you?
3. Food. I love all kinds of food (I just can't eat leafy greens, I don't know why :/). These are my top three favorite foods:
Salmon
Ribs
4. Books. I love to read! I would love to have a mini library when I buy a house in the future. :)

6. Rain. There's something about rain that I love. Maybe it's because we don't get it often here in LA. Rainy/gloomy weather is the perfect time to just lie in bed (with super comfy comforter), drink a cup of hot chocolate, and watch DVDs all day. *sigh*

8. Headbands. If you've read some of my older posts, you might recall that I've mentioned my love for headbands. :D

9. Travel. I love to travel - but there are still sooooo many places I have to visit in my lifetime.

10. Shopping. I'm sure I don't have to explain why. Haha. ;)

If you haven't seen my Paris travel post, please click here. :D

The Eiffel Tower at night. Imagine just walking around the city at night, how beautiful it would be with all the lights. *sigh*
I got this (along with other photos on this post) from http://www.world-city-photos.org/. They have wonderful photos of different cities. If you check this picture out on that site, you'll see that it actually moves. I'm not sure why it doesn't move here. Haha. :D
Arc de Triomphe at night. It looks so magical!
Isn't this photo the coolest thing ever?!
(whoever took/edited/uploaded this photo, thank you!)
The River Seine
River Seine in the afternoon. This reminds me of London's River Thames.
A replica of New York's Statue of Liberty (a gift from France to New York) along the River Seine.
Let's visit The Palace of Versailles and check out King Louis XIV's Hall of Mirrors.
And of course, The Louvre!
The Pantheon
inside panoramic view of The Pantheon
The Notre Dame Cathedral
The Basilica of Sacre Coeur ("Sacred Heart")
Ready for some amusement park time? Let's go to Paris Disneyland! I've heard that its layout is an exact replica of the original Anaheim Disneyland... anyone know if that is true?
I also want to stop by Le Cordon Bleu Paris.
(got this from http://anthonyfassio.blogspot.com/)
Le Cordon Bleu = food. Speaking of food, let's stop by a boulangerie (bakery shop, specializing in different kinds of bread) and a patisserie (where we can get delicious pastries and sweets).

In between the sight-seeing, museum/ cathedral tours, and eating, we have to squeeze in some shopping time. Oh, who am I kidding, of course we are going to set aside a whole day (or two) for shopping!
Got some money saved for a little Louis Vuitton love? If not, we can always just enjoy looking around. ;)
Where else in Paris should we go shopping? Any suggestions?
Did I miss anything? Are there other spots/ places we should visit? :D
I hope you all had a fun time touring Paris with me. I enjoyed our little trip! :)
