Weddings and Movies

Happy Friday, everyone!

Is it just me or did this week go by ever so slowly?
Have you guys read about the new zodiac sign?

Haha, sorry, I just had to put that in there...

Anyways, on to my post for the day... I've noticed that a lot of the movies I enjoy watching has a wedding. Come to think of it, there are a lot of wedding movies out there - and I love almost all of them.

Here are my favorite weddings in movies:

1. Bride Wars

Anne Hathaway and Kate Hudson both wore Vera Wang.

Which dress do you like better?

2. 27 Dresses

According to an article I read, Katherine Heigl's dress was from Amsale.

3. Sex and the City

Sarah Jessica Parker wore this Vivienne Westwood gown for the wedding scene in the movie.

4. Made of Honor

I like the simplicity of this dress, and I love the flower on her hair.

5. Mamma Mia

I love Amanda Seyfried's hair, dress, and headdress! And the wedding in the movie is so laidback and beautiful!

6. Monster-In-Law

It's such a funny movie. The houses and clothes in this movie are just so pretty!

7. The Proposal

Sandra Bullock's dress looked so nice on her. The barn where the wedding was held was really beautiful. :)

8. The Wedding Planner

Bridgette Wilson-Sampras' dress is so poofy and pretty!

I like Jennifer Lopez's cute little pillbox hat and veil. :)

9. A Walk to Remember

One of my all-time favorites... I like Mandy Moore's veil, but I don't think I'd go for that in real life. ;)

I could name more wedding movies, but where's the fun in that?

What is/are your favorite wedding movie/s?

Have a great weekend, my loves!

Gift Guide: 50 Gifts Under $50

I know you are all probably happy to be done and over with buying your Christmas gifts, but...

is there someone you forgot to buy a Christmas gift for?

were you too busy to actually look for a personal and meaningful gift for your family and friends?

did someone who wasn't on your list give you a gift, and you want to return the favor?

were you a bit low on funds, but now have some extra cash to buy little treats for your loved ones?

are there any birthdays coming up?

CSN Store: Shoes Got Sole

Happy Monday! :D

I hope you had a good start to your week.

I'm happy to finally find some time to go back to my normal posting routine. ;)

I'm sure we are all familiar with CSN and their over 200 stores. I was given an opportunity to purchase something from their online stores and make a review on it. I seriously couldn't make up my mind - there were so many things to choose from!

I ended up sticking to http://www.shoesgotsole.com/, and got their Peace Moccasins Kristina Booties. It was the perfect choice because I have a couple of boots, but only one pair of moccasins. And we all know moccasins are really really really comfy, perfect for cold weather, and not to mention, stylish. :D

The Peace Moccasins Kristina Booties are available in 4 colors.

Brown:

Tan:

Gray:

and Black:

I got mine in Brown.

My CSN package!!! :D

Their customer service is very good, and my package arrived on time. After placing your order, you will get an order confirmation e-mail. And once your order has been prepared and shipped, you will get an e-mail with a tracking number.

Photobucket

My moccasin booties were on sale for $47. And shipping? Free! :D

The thing I like about CSN (besides their generosity to bloggers like us) is that they have tons of products to choose from, and many of them have free shipping.

So, about my new moccasins... here they are:

Photobucket

My shoe size plays around 6 and 6 and a half (sometimes 7). Since I get my boots in 6 and a half, I decided to get my moccasins in the same size. When I first opened the box, my initial reaction was that the moccasins are too small. But then when I tried them on, they were a good fit - perfectly snug.

Photobucket

It has that really cute peace sign. :D

I don't know if you can really notice it from that photo, but the soles are leather too - the exact material of the rest of the moccasins. I wasn't entirely sure if they can be worn outside since it doesn't really have "soles". I decided to go for it though, and it worked out well. Just avoid wearing them when it's raining. And the color seems way darker in person than in the photos, but I think it will lighten with time.

There is also a little note about the leather:

Photobucket

When I first wore them, the color went a bit on my feet, but it's no big deal, it washes off in the shower. And it does diminish over time.

I love my new moccasins and have gotten compliments when I wore them. :D

I think the price is pretty reasonable - most good quality moccasins are around that price range, some even more expensive.

I suggest that you be absolutely certain about the size you are going to get. I don't know anything about CSN's return policy so I can't say how returning/exchanging would go. Do you know anything about their return policy?

So yup, I am definitely thinking of purchasing shoes and other stuff from CSN again. :D

Have you purchased anything from any of CSN's online stores? What did you get?

Travel Destination: San Francisco

Happy Saturday, dear friends! :D

As I was thinking of what my post for today will be, I suddenly realized that it has been so long since I last did a Travel Destination post.

Let's go to San Francisco, shall we? :)

The last time I've been to San Francisco was over 7 years ago. Isn't that weird? It's just in California, but we haven't been back in years. It's a pretty long road trip compared to the 5 hours or so it takes to go to Las Vegas. I'm really hoping to go to San Francisco sometime this year, though. :)

I think the Golden Gate Bridge is the quintessential San Francisco landmark.

The San Mateo-Hayward Bridge is one of the longest bridges in the world.

San Francisco has other bridges besides these two such as the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge, Richmond-San Rafael Bridge, and Dumbarton Bridge.

San Francisco Trolley

One thing I want to do when we go back to San Francisco is take a trip to Alcatraz Island.

This prison is legendary. I think J.K. Rowling's Azkaban Prison was modeled after this. ;)

Something I've noticed about San Francisco is that it is almost always cold. We went there in the summer. It was July 4th (my birthday) - around that time, Los Angeles is usually enjoying hot weather, but in San Francisco, it was freezing (but then again, maybe that's just me talking). We were going to have a picnic by the bay, but it was so cold, we ended up eating inside the car. Haha. :)

The Palace of Fine Arts

Another place we have to go to is Lombard Street (aka Crooked Street).

I don't know if I can ever drive up or down that street. It's crazy! ;)

These San Francisco houses look so cute. They remind me of Charmed!

The Transamerica Pyramid can apparently be seen from virtually everywhere in San Francisco. However, a fellow blogger, AmberLights, said that it can only be seen downtown because of the hills. Thanks for sharing that info!

Hungry? Let's go to the Fisherman's Wharf! :D

Or Chinatown!

Have you been to San Francisco? Where else should we go?

I haven't been there in so long, I probably missed out quite a few places to visit. ;P

Some of my favorite movies were also set in San Francisco:

The Wedding Planner

Just Like Heaven

Oh, and The Sweetest Thing!

Can you think of other movies set in San Francisco?

I hope you are having a fantastic weekend! :D

Movie Review: Alice in Wonderland and Killers

Hi everyone! I can't believe 2011 is finally here!

How did you ring in the New Year?

I can't make up my mind as to what my first post of the year will be, so instead of going with the jumbled posts I've been doing lately, I thought it'd be nice to actually make a post about some things I promised I would do. And one of those things is a movie review. :)

I mentioned on my previous posts that I watched Alice in Wonderland.

I honestly couldn't remember the story and the original cartoon version of Alice in Wonderland. Watching the movie brought back some of those childhood memories. :)

19-year-old Alice returns to the whimsical world she first encountered as a young girl, reuniting with her childhood friends: the White Rabbit, Tweedledee and Tweedledum, the Dormouse, the Caterpillar, the Cheshire Cat, and of course, the Mad Hatter. Alice embarks on a fantastical journey to find her true destiny and end the Red Queen's reign of terror.

*from Yahoo! movies*

Mia Wasikowska played Alice well. I actually can't imagine anyone else being Alice.

Helena Bonham Carter as the Red Queen

I think she's got playing characters like that down to a T.

Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter

What can I say... no one else could've done it better than he did.

Anne Hathaway as the White Queen

She played her part well too, as she always does. :)

Tweedledee and Tweedledum - they are really funny!

I think they cast the perfect actors to play their respective roles. No complains about the acting - they were all good. I also liked the idea of a 19-year old Alice coming back to Wonderland. Action-wise... there was a fight scene, although I expected it to be a little more intense, but it was still pretty good.

I liked the movie. I think it is worth watching. :)

Have you seen Alice in Wonderland? What did you think of it?

Next movie: Killers

Spencer Aimes is just your average, undercover, government-hired super-assassin accustomed to a life of exotic European locales, flashy sports cars and even flashier women. But when he meets Jen Kornfeldt, a beautiful, fun-loving computer tech recovering from a bad break-up, he finds true love and happily trades international intrigue for domestic bliss.Three years later, Spencer and Jen are still enjoying a picture-perfect marriage... that is, until the morning after Spencer's 30th birthday. That's when Spencer and Jen learn he's the target of a multi-million dollar hit. Even worse, the hired killers have been stalking the happy couple for years, and could be anyone: friends, neighbors, the grocery store clerk, even that crabby old guy shuffling across the street. Now Spencer and Jen are on the run for their lives. As their suburban paradise turns into a paranoid game of dodge-the-bullet, they must find out who wants Spencer dead and why, all the while trying to save their marriage, manage his pain-in-the-ass in-laws, keep up neighborly appearances and just plain survive. And you thought suburban life was easy.

*from Yahoo! movies*

Katherine Heigl and Ashton Kutcher played their parts well. No problems in the acting department. I also thought they looked cute together. There were a lot of nice and funny moments.

I think the main problem of this movie is the weak story line. It feels as if the story wasn't well thought-out. I was watching it, getting into the whole spy-CIA-assassin theme, I was like "OMG, who is the bad guy?!". And then the answer comes, and I was just like "Really? That's it?".

I think it's a good movie to watch if you have nothing else to do or if you just want a relaxing night, just hanging out.

And, seriously, Ashton Kutcher was soooooo cute in this movie. He plays the spy character well. So yeah, if you love Ashton, watch this movie! :D

Have you seen Killers? Opinions?
-----------------------------------------
Last thing, I was reading E! Online, and I saw that Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock spent New Year's Eve together! :D

They ate at Sandra's Texas restaurant Bess Bistro, where they were seen holding hands and looking cute together. I read that Sandra is helping Ryan go through his divorce. They are just friends, but wouldn't it be nice if they do end up together? As much as the news of Ryan's newly single status made a lot of girls happy (yes, including me, haha), I think Sandra and Ryan would make a perfect couple. I am rooting for them! :D

What do you think?

--------------------------------------

I hope you all had a fabulous New Year's celebration! I look forward to sharing 2011 with you!
