Review and Giveaway: Spirit Ink Tattoos ***CLOSED***

Happy Monday! :D

A couple of weeks ago, I was contacted by an up-and-coming company named Spirit Ink.
I really loved their name, so I was interested right off the bat, of course! :)

Cute envelope and font! :)

Some information about Spirit Ink:

Founders Jane, Hayon, and Jennifer, friends since elementary school, have always had a fascination with tattoos. But being deathly afraid of needles didn’t help with their desire for getting inked. On a quest for temporary tattoos, the only selection found were of kitschy dragons and Chinese characters.

The girls then decided to collaborate to make SPIRIT INK, a fresh take on temporary tattoos for those who also appreciate the artistry, but who don’t want to commit to the permanency or pain. The SPIRIT INK girls hand cut and pack every order and hope to bring a little joy to each customer.

So channel your inner-rebel -- at Coachella, at a party, or if it’s just another day.

I loved this -- I thought it was a nice touch! :)

"...being deathly afraid of needles didn’t help with their desire for getting inked" -- That is so totally me, haha!
That's why I was so happy to work with Spirit Ink... at least once in my life, I'd be able to rock a tattoo! ;)

The way they present their products mirrors the vibe of their company -- modern, young, hip, and fun!

a note from The Spirit Ink Team

They sent me a bunch of temporary tattoos in different designs:

medium infinity sign/ love/ small infinity sign/ giraffe/ whale/ bow/ anchor/ Spirit Ink

They hand cut each and every one of their temporary tattoos -- if that's not patience and dedication, then I don't know what is! :)

Instructions:

1. Take your tattoo and peel away the clear plastic layer.

2. Apply the tattoo's sticky side to your skin.

3. Cover the tattoo paper area with a wet cloth for 10-15 seconds or until paper slides off easily.

4. Enjoy! It should last 1-2 days.

I put the bigger infinity sign on my wrist because I am a Revenge fan, and Emily Thorne has a double infinity tattoo on her wrist, haha! I'm so cool such a dork, I know! ;)

My infinity tattoo got wet, but it didn't come off.
After about 8 hours though, it started peeling on the sides, probably because I placed it on my wrist -- the constant bending must've done it. But even though it was peeling, it still looked good.

The next day, when half the infinity sign came off, my OCD kicked in and I peeled the rest off.
I gotta warn you, it hurt! But, at least we know that they really stick! ;)

My sisters put theirs on their foot (seen above and below), and they didn't peel off as quickly as mine did.
Their friends even thought their tattoos were real! :)

Some additional instructions for putting on your temporary tattoos:

- The skin should be clean, free of oils and makeup.
- If tattoo becomes wet, dab gently to dry. Do not rub.
- To maximize your tattoo lifetime, avoid lotion on your tattoo.
- SPIRIT INK tattoos typically last about 3-5 days. This depends on how and where they are applied. (As I learned, haha!)
- To remove, you can use rubbing alcohol or baby oil.
- The inside forearm works best!

I'm dreaming of...

living in London!

I love love love Los Angeles, but I've been dreaming of living in London for as long as I can remember. :)
I know I will always probably go back home to Los Angeles, but it would be amazing to see what life would be like studying and living across the pond...

LOVE living in London... there's ALWAYS something going on! London underground by @Doug88888, via Flickr

This dream of mine has been heightened even more by all the fantastic celebrations that went on in London these past two years -- the royal wedding, Diamond Jubilee Celebrations, and the London 2012 Olympic Games! :)

*Sigh*

For now though, I'm just gonna have to live vicariously through photos of London on Pinterest:

Big Ben

I can't wait to see Big Ben in person, take the requisite tourist photo at a telephone booth, and ride a double-decker bus!

Tower Bridge

Millenium Bridge - London

London Eye, London
The London Eye

I love this photo! :)

London shopping

London Shopping | Oxford Street

I can only imagine how awesome shopping in London is!

Rainy London

I know it's almost always raining in London, but I love rain and I love gloomy weather -- that would be a nice break from the bright, California sunshine (which I also love, of course, haha)!

London aerial view

*Sigh*

It's just a dream for now, but I'm sure one day this will become a reality!
And when that day comes, all my new adventures will be documented here on my blog, of course. :)

What about you, if you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live?
If you live in London, how is life like there?
Which are the best places to live in? The best places to go?

Tell me your favorite London stories, I'd love to hear about them! :D

Anastasia of Beverly Hills: She Wears It Well Eye Shadow Palette

Happy Thursday/ Friday! :)

I meant to do this post earlier today, but things got a little crazy busy... and then I started watching reruns of Laguna Beach (#RetroMTV, anyone?). This drama-filled "reality" show is so bad, but so addicting, haha!
One thing I noticed though is that (besides their less-than-fashionable outfits) they need help in the makeup department...

And then I realized how far I've come myself when it comes to makeup -- I didn't use to care about putting on makeup at all. So thanks to all the makeup bloggers out there, I've really learned a lot! :)

Anyway, speaking of makeup, let's talk about the newest palette from Anastasia of Beverly Hills! :D

I can't get over how cool this black bubble wrap envelope is! ;)

She Wears It Well is Anastasia’s new Hollywood glamour with modern moxie inspired mirrored palette of nine pigment-rich matte and shimmer shadows in nude and neutral shades that impart a sophisticated smolder to the eyes.

How pretty, right?!
It came with exclusive promotional face charts that offer tips on how to get the most use out of the She Wears It Well palette -- they are amazing and so helpful (especially for someone who needs a lot of practice with eye makeup, haha!)
I'll be sharing those face charts with you guys on a separate post, I'm so excited! ;)

But, back to the palette:

She Wears It Well Eye Shadow Palette
(Price: $34)

Classic Hollywood glamour with modern moxie. Nude meets knockout with these nine pigment-rich matte and shimmer shadows that give your eyes enough sophisticated smolder to woo them, every time.
No matter how you wear them, you’re sure to wear them well.

I love the look of the palette's cover -- it's modern, but classic at the same time.

The packaging is beautiful, but just a little difficult to capture in pictures, haha... I hope you can still see how pretty it is from these photos, though. :)

Nine beautiful shades! :)

Nude meets knockout with this pretty palette which offers shades in Trophy, Glow, Latte, Foxy, Sunset, Frosting, Onyx, Almond, and Toffee
No matter how you wear them, you’re sure to wear them well.

Features & Benefits
- Deluxe mirrored compact with professional dual brush that features 9 shadows for day and evening looks.
- Illumin8 formula featuring Youthful Synergy Complex® is clinically proven to illuminate, firm, and hydrate the skin.
- Long-wearing, Crease-Free, Can be worn wet and dry

My sisters and I had a lot of fun playing with this palette.
The colors are so so so beautiful, especially when worn. But of course, take into consideration that at first try, they won't really come out too much yet -- it's like there's one layer you have to get through first.
They come out better when the brush is wet/damp and also when you wear primer.

I love how there are matte and shimmery options -- you can definitely create different looks depending on your mood. You can go from dark smokey eyes to a light breezy look.

For makeup junkies who are experts at putting on eye makeup, the colors of this palette may be too basic.
But for people like me who are trying to test the waters when it comes to eye makeup, this is the perfect palette -- basic, but offers enough colors to cover different looks.

I think this would also be perfect for travel -- it's just the right size and again, the colors are versatile.

The palette comes with this brush -- one end is an eye shadow brush, while the other end is more of a pointed brush (comes in handy if you want to try a cat eye look).

Speaking of a cat eye look, here is a video tutorial from Anastasia of Beverly Hills:

Pretty, right?! :)

More information about the She Wears It Well Eye Shadow Palette:

The She Wears It Well Eye Shadow Palette is available at Sephora and www.anastasia.net. :)

What do you guys think? Is this something you would like to try?
Have you bought anything from Anastasia of Beverly Hills before?

Yay for Friday! Happy Weekend!

Style Spotlight: Jennifer Aniston

Happy Tuesday!

I've noticed that it's been quite a while since I last made a Style Spotlight post, so here we are... in honor of Jennifer Aniston's recent engagement, let's take a look at her effortless style. :)

First off though, here is an editorial all about Jen's style from the June 2012 issue of People StyleWatch:
(click each to enlarge)

Jen's Style Rules!
Stick to streamlined shapes - Dressed up or down, she chooses tried-and-true silhouettes in timeless hues -- like black mini-dresses and jeans with white tanks.
Go for modern extras - Minimal gold jewelry and neutral bags and heels are the perfect additions to her look.
Show off your assets - Shorter dresses, fitted skirts, and high heels make the most of her great legs.

HER KEY PIECES!
- basic tank
- ankle-strap stilettos
- boyfriend jeans
- zippered cross-body
- dangly earrings
- chunky gold watch

I love the "Romantic" hairstyle! :)

Now, a look at her outfits...

I love her shoes! :)

Dressed-Up

I think the reason why a lot of people love Jennifer Aniston's style is because it's real and accessible -- she doesn't wear anything overly-flamboyant, her looks are something we can recreate with items already in our closet or with pieces that we're sure to find at affordable prices. :)

Her innate ability to bring a casual vibe to all her looks is what makes her Jennifer Aniston, that's definitely her trademark. She makes everything look so effortless and she always looks great... well, except for this:

Jennifer Aniston wearing her boyfriend's jeans..

But other than that, she can do no wrong.
I'm happy that she finally found happiness after years of being a part of the most talked-about "love triangle" of all time.
I really hope this is it for her and I can't wait to see her wedding dress! ;)

What do you think of Jennifer Aniston's style?
Do you have a favorite look of hers?

Let Me Gush and Music: Phillip Phillips

Happy Monday!

I've been meaning to do this post for quite some time now, but I decided to wait until Phillip Phillips' official video for Home comes out... and it's here, yay! :)

This song has been everywhere!
If you watched the Olympics or even if you just saw a glimpse of the commercials, you probably already heard this song.

Here is the official video:

Here are also three of my favorite American Idol performances from the reigning Idol champ:

U Got It Bad --

We've Got Tonight --

Volcano --

These four songs are some of the most played on my iTunes, haha! ;)

Are you a Phillip Phillips fan?
Which of these songs did you like the most?

I hope you are all having a wonderful start to the new week! :)
