Red Carpet Recap: 2013 Grammy Awards

Happy Monday!

Just squeezing in a quick post before I go do my homework... ;)

So, last night was music's biggest night: Grammy Awards.
Let's talk about the red carpet? :D

Rihanna -

The 55th Annual GRAMMY Awards …

I am very, very impressed with Rihanna's red carpet look -- she looked ravishing in this custom red Azzedine Alaia dress!
And I am loving the hair!

Faith Hill -

The 55th Annual GRAMMY Awards …

She is so beautiful!
Faith Hill looked timeless in her knee-length J.Mendel dress -- I love the sheer detail!

Beyoncé -

The 55th Annual GRAMMY Awards …

It may seem a little too casual, especially compared to what the other stars wore, but I actually like Beyoncé's Osman Studio jumpsuit, I think it's sleek and classic.

Carrie Underwood -

The 55th Annual GRAMMY Awards …

I am not really a big fan of Carrie Underwood's black Roberto Cavalli gown, but I am loving her jewelry!
Her Johnathon Arndt necklace is worth $31 million and features 381-carat diamonds! Wow!

Jennifer Lopez -

The 55th Annual GRAMMY Awards …

Jennifer Lopez is a gorgeous woman, but I think the slit on her Anthony Vaccarello gown is just way too high!
I don't know why, but I don't think anyone can do the "one-leg-sticking-out" thing as well as Angelina Jolie did...

Adele -

The 55th Annual GRAMMY Awards …

I love love love Adele, but I am not a fan of this red floral Valentino frock. :/
I am so happy she won another Grammy, though! ;)

Lisa D'Amato -

The 55th Annual GRAMMY Awards …

Worst Dressed, hands down!

Can I also just quickly point out how handsome Justin Timberlake was last night???!!!

The 55th Annual GRAMMY Awards …

I've always had a huge crush on this guy -- even when he sported blonde curly locks and head-to-toe denim, haha! ;)

There we have it, just a quick and short recap of the 2013 Grammy Awards red carpet...

Whose look did you like the best? Whose look did you not like at all?
Who's excited for the Academy Awards? (I am!)

I hope you are all having a great start to the week!

Attention: Moms of little boys, this is for you! :D

Happy Friday again!

This past week has been super busy, so I'm making up for being MIA by posting twice in one day, haha! ;)

It is freezing here in Los Angeles today... plus, it's raining!
So, this new article from Catherine couldn't have come at a more opportune time! :D

These tips are perfect for Moms of little boys: it's all about how to keep those little heartbreakers warm this winter...

Keep Little Boys Warm This Winter

While your little boy might be wishing that it’s summer, the fact is that we have a few more months of winter to get through. And with the recent cold snap, dressing for warmth has never been more important!

 Winter

Check your little boy’s wardrobe and make sure that they are well equipped with all that they need to keep them weatherproof and warm.

Footwear

While it can seem like a heavy expense, it’s important that your son has the right pair of boy's shoes or boots to suit all weathers.
A sturdy pair of wellington boots is essential for keeping feet dry during wet weather (of which we’re guaranteed plenty of!).
Choose between a simple navy or black pair or let your child choose a pair of character wellies themselves.

Navy Wellington Boots (£5)/ Black Wellington Boots (£6)

Cars Wellington Boots (£8)/ JCB Print Wellington Boots (£8)

Padded Winter Boots (£12.50, on sale for £7.50)

As we’ve recently seen, a good pair of snow boots will also come in useful. You’ll find a cosy pair of padded winter boots at George at ASDA for just £12, so forget spending a fortune on designer versions when these will do just as well.

Waterproofs

As well as waterproof boy’s shoes, you’ll also want to make sure that your son has a suitable waterproof jacket that still fits well.
Pac a macs are a good practical choice that can be easily slipped into a rucksack.

Shower Resistant Jacket - Blue (£10)

When choosing a new jacket for spring you should also make sure that your choice is shower resistant, to guard against those April showers. This George jacket is a stylish and practical buy that comes in blue or red.

Layers

Layering is the best way to keep out the chill, so make sure that there’s a good selection of jumpers, hoodies and cardigans in your son’s chest of drawers. Knitted jumpers are comfy, soft and cosy, whereas you can’t really go wrong with zip-up hoodies for little boys.

Boys outfit Simple kids winter 2012I know some soon-to-be-born little boys that will need this outfit next winter

If they’re not too old to object, try to keep them wearing vests under their clothes while the weather is bitingly cold.
A cotton vest will provide a much appreciated extra layer without adding any uncomfortable bulk.

Loungewear

When the weather is terrible outside, there’s nothing better than cosying up inside in soft, comfortable loungewear.

Marl Jogging Bottoms (£7)/ Print Hooded Sweatshirt (£7)

Cotton joggings bottoms and hooded sweatshirts are a boy’s wardrobe essential, and you can also pick up multi-pack plain t-shirts for just a few pounds from the supermarkets.

Bed Time

Keep your boy warm and cosy in bed with snugly pj’s. Fleecy pyjamas are better than cotton on really cold nights, and make sure that they have a thick dressing gown and a pair of slippers to keep them snug around the house.

2 Pack Pirate Pyjama Sets (£8)/ Phineas & Ferb Slippers (£6)

You’ll find a wide range of slippers in the boy’s shoes section of the George at ASDA website, including character slippers, novelty slippers and warm slipper boots.

While you can’t wish winter away, you can make sure that your little boy is kept warm and dry, whatever he gets up to.
And there’s no need to worry about the cost when you shop at ASDA.com. George has stylish and practical clothing and footwear available at tiny prices, to keep kitting out the kids in affordable styles.

******************************

How cute are all these little boys' clothes?!
I wish I had a nephew to dress up in these adorable outfits! ;)

Thanks to Catherine for this awesome article!
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! :D

Let's Talk Shoes: Ten Shoes Every Woman Should Own

Happy Tuesday!

I just finished writing my essay, so I am rewarding myself by writing a blog post, haha!
I am slowly being swamped with schoolwork, but I am determined to balance my time well -- wish me luck, guys! ;)

Right now, one thing that I really want to buy is a comfortable pair of shoes for school -- since it's cold, I am a happy girl with my boots, but what will I wear when it gets hot???

And since we're talking about shoes, it makes me think... what kinds of shoes should we actually have in our closet?

Luckily, I found an article by Glamour magazine that will help us. :)

Ten Shoes Every Woman Should Own

1. Nude Peep-Toe Pumps -

2. Black City Boots -

3. Ballet Flats -

4. Wooden Platform Sandals -

5. Canvas Sneakers -

6. Black Pumps -

7. Metallic Sandals -

8. Suede Booties -

9. Flat Leather Sandals -

10. Gorgeous Work-Of-Art Shoes That Make You Happy -

My Mom complains that I have a lot of shoes, but now we know that's not true -- I still have a long way to go!
There's a lot on this list I still have to buy. ;)

What do you guys think? Do you agree with this list?
How many of these do you already have in your closet?

I hope you are all having a fantastic week! :D

Haul Time: IMATS Los Angeles 2013

Happy Thursday!!! :D

I finally have some time to share with you guys all the goodies I got from this year's IMATS Los Angeles, yay! ;)
(To see my IMATS Los Angeles 2013 post, please click here.)

International Make-Up Artist Trade Show
Pasadena, California
Saturday, 19 January 2013

Pictured above is my IMATS wrist band, IMATS Los Angeles booklet, and some business cards and pamphlets.

Here are all my IMATS goodies:

booklet/ O.R.G Skincare press kit/ INGLOT paper bag/ wrist band/ LA Splash nail polishes and lip gloss/ Beauty Treats makeup remover wipes

Let's go through them one by one:

1. Beauty Treats -

I got one of these amazing makeup remover cleansing tissues last year (check out my review here), and I loved it so much, I got four of them this year. ;)

They didn't have my favorite Green Tea scent, so I got them in Apricot instead.
This one smells great as well!

2. LA Splash -

I bought basic nail polish colors -- Black, Blue, and White -- from LA Splash.
And I also got a red lip gloss -- I have a ton of lip gloss, but I didn't have a red one... until now. ;)

3. INGLOT -

This is very exciting because I've always been interested in INGLOT, but I never got around to buying anything from them.
Luckily, my sister reminded me that I've been wanting to get something from INGLOT, so I got...

a face blush from their Freedom System Collection! :)

4. O.R.G Skincare -

This goodie was a freebie, haha! ;)

I was contacted by Donna from O.R.G Skincare a week before IMATS and I visited their booth the day of.
Suzie, makeup artist and O.R.G co-founder, told me the story behind O.R.G and she also demonstrated how to use their Organic Mineral Peel (this product is a new favorite of mine, it's so awesome!).

They gave me a press kit which includes a bottle of Organic Mineral Face Peel -- I will write a post solely dedicated to that and to O.R.G Skincare soon, I promise! ;)

So yup, that is the end of my IMATS haul for this year -- I hope you guys enjoyed it!
I will definitely be reviewing each item (except the makeup remover wipes) in the future, so please stay tuned. :)

Yay for Friday and Hello, February! :D
