Thank You, Yahoo! :)

Happy Tuesday! :)

Browsing through Yahoo!'s news stories is a part of my daily routine.
Last week, I saw a Yahoo! article about an egg-separating trick that apparently even chefs didn't know... the article also came with a video from a Chinese website (jifenzhong.com) demonstrating the trick.

Here is the video:

I didn't understand a word (I want to learn their language, though!), but just watching this video totally blew my mind!
Wow, why didn't anyone tell us about this sooner?!

This is so cool!
I am looking up recipes that require either egg whites or egg yolks just so I can try this trick. ;)

I hope you are all having a wonderful week so far!
It's really so hard to get back on track after a long weekend, let alone after a whole summer (I'm still pretty much on summer mode, to be honest)... but I'll definitely get on with writing the posts I have scheduled for you guys! :D

Have a happy week! :)

Tasty Tuesday: Oreo Truffles

Happy Tuesday!

I hope you all had a lovely weekend! :)

I just wanted to share a very easy and delicious recipe with you guys -- Oreo Truffles! :D

What you need and what to do:

- A package of Oreos

Put Oreos in food processor and set some aside.
If you don't have a food processor, no worries - put the Oreos in a big Ziploc bag and crush them with a pan or something of that sort. ;P

- 1 softened cream cheese

Mix the Oreo crumbs with the cream cheese.

I know that probably doesn't look too appetizing, but I promise it's going to be delicious! ;)

Form the Oreo-cream cheese mixture into balls.

- Chocolate (or white chocolate)

Melt it - either by double boiler or microwave.

Dip the Oreo-cream cheese balls into the chocolate.

The chocolate chips I used were actually a bit too sticky, but it worked out okay. Next time, I'm probably gonna use a chocolate bar instead.

After dipping them in chocolate, sprinkle your saved Oreo crumbs on top - make sure you do that right away, while the chocolate is still melted and sticky.

Refrigerate for an hour or two... and taaaaaa-daaaaa:

Delicious and pretty Oreo truffles!

These are perfect to just munch at home, serve as dessert when you have friends over, or even as a gift! I'm actually thinking of making a bunch to give my friends for Christmas -- I know it's a long time from now, but it's never too early to start planning your Christmas gifts, haha. ;)

Isn't this recipe very easy to follow? And the truffles are just delicious! :)

Do you have a different truffle recipe? Is this a recipe you might want to try?

P.S. My Perricone giveaway is open until July 23rd! Click the link to enter for a chance to win any Perricone product of your choice. :D

HAPPY THANKSGIVING! :D

I want to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!

And for all our friends from other parts of the world, Happy Thursday! :D

I am thankful for a lot of things. To name a few, I am thankful for:

-My family - We don't always get along and we all have our differences, but at the end of the day, we only get one family, so we really should love and appreciate ours. I know sometimes our families drive us crazy and we say one too many times that we wish we had a different one, but I doubt that we ever mean it. So yup, I am thankful for my family.

-My friends - I haven't seen them in months, but I know and I feel that they will always be there for me. I am soooo excited to see them for our annual Christmas get-together in December!

- My life - It's not perfect, but nevertheless, I am very thankful.

-My blogger friends - For making me feel loved and appreciated! Thank you!

What are you thankful for?

Another aspect of Thanksgiving that we all love is food, of course!

I am going to be in charge of corn bread and potatoes au gratin.

What are you guys having for Thanksgiving?

I probably won't be able to take pictures of the whole cooking/baking process, so I will leave you with these images:

Yay for a Giveaway! :D ***CLOSED***

Happy Friday, my dear friends!

We have two reasons for celebration today - 1. It's a Friday! and 2. We have a giveaway!!! :D

I know we probably all know about CSN Stores by now - they have over 200 stores where we can find anything from handbags, shoes, cookware, home decor, to extra tall bar stools such as these:

Great American Barstools 24'' Black Slatted Stool with Black Seat

Wildon Home Aloha 29'' Stool in Black

Wildon Home Aloha 24'' Stool in Oak

I've been looking through all the items they have, and I've found a lot that I liked. Here are some of the things I would love to order from CSN:
Paderno World Cuisine Pastry Tip Dryer in Stainless Steel

Whenever I wash my icing tips, I have to put them aside, on top of a paper towel to dry. Having this drying rack would come in handy - at least I wouldn't have to worry about my siblings accidentally hitting or dropping my icing tips. :D
Other stuff that I want to buy?
Nordicware Kitchenware Holiday 3-D Cookie Cutter Set

Nordicware Kitchenware Christmas/ Winter Cookie Cutter Sheet

These are going to be perfect for baking Christmas cookies!
I also went ahead and checked out non-kitchen stuff, and I found this:
London Fog Oxford Collection 16'' Satchel Tote Bag

I like the simple look of this bag, I want it... But you know what, enough about what I want, let's talk about what you want! :)
CSN Stores - also known for their generosity to bloggers like us - is offering one of my beloved readers a $55 giftcard that can be used for any of their sites!
How to enter:
1. Be a follower of my blog, and let me know. (1 entry)
2. Visit http://www.csnstores.com/ and tell me which item you want to get using the $55 giftcard. (1 entry)
3. Mention this giveaway on your blog, and leave the link in a comment. (1 entry)
Please leave one comment per entry as I will assign a number to each - then I will use the ever-so-trusty random.org to pick a winner. :D
Please leave your email in one or all entries - CSN and I need a way to contact the winner.
This giveaway will run from today until Sunday, the 21st of November, 11:59pm PST.
***Open to United States and Canada residents only.***
Apologies to my other blogger friends - I will try to have another giveaway for everyone sometime soon. :D
Good luck, everyone! And have a happy weekend! :)

Cool Tools for the Cook! :D

Happy Monday, everyone! It's the last week of August, crazy as it sounds. Haha, I know, I always say that. ;)

Anyways, I'm pretty sure we all love to eat. Food is life. Haha. And cooking our own food can really be fun - that is if we're not too tired or busy. While the basic tools we need can really be narrowed down to pots, pans, knives, chopping board, etc., it is amazing how many cooking tools are now available to us! These colorful and fun tools can make a laborious and tiring day in the kitchen very fun and exciting. :D

I think I want them all! What about you?

Out of all of these, I only have one: a garlic gizmo (part of the 18 gifts my sister and brother-in-law gave me for my 18th birthday). My garlic mincer is a pretty cool gadget - you put the garlic clove in, and then you roll it around (it has wheels!) until your garlic is finely minced. :D

Looking at all these inspired me to look up cooking/baking tools and kitchen gadgets that I would love to own.
