Coastal Scents 88 Shimmer Palette :)

Happy Memorial Day Weekend, everyone! :D

How are you all spending the long weekend? Whatever it is you are doing, I hope you are having fun! :)

When I have some spare time, I really try to do some swatches for you guys. :)
Good news is I had some time this past week to take photos of my

Coastal Scents 88 Shimmer Palette! :D

Here's what www.coastalscents.com says about it:

Description
For those of you who love shimmer shadows, you will not be disappointed. These are very pigmented and offer a bit more shimmer than the 56 piece palette. The pots are Dime Size around and contain plenty of powder for many excessive uses.

Content Weight
61.0g / 2.15oz

I bought this last year for $19.95 -- very affordable, huh?!
The packaging is not the best, but I don't mind because you get 88 colors for $19.95 -- why would I complain, right?

And another good thing about this is the colors are pigmented.

I swatched a color from each row for you guys to see. :)
There are 11 rows with 8 colors each.

Photobucket
*My arm looks weird, hahaha!*

There may be some fall outs, but you can easily fix that by sweeping it up with loose powder. You can also use MAC Fix+ or just plain, good old water to get less fall outs and a deeper shade.

It comes with dual end foam applicators, but I like using my own eyeshadow brush.

All in all, I think this is a really great buy! It feels like it has all the colors you can possibly think of. ;)

Photobucket
Which of these 88 colors do you like the best?

If you don't want much of a shimmer, they also have an 88 Original Palette -- the same beautiful colors without the shimmer for $18.95!

Coastal Scents has a ton of other products, so check out their website to see which one will strike your fancy. :)

Have you ever bought anything from Coastal Scents? Any recommendations?

Have a fantastic weekend, guys! :D

Spring's Top Trends: A Recap

Happy Thursday! :)

I've been totally off this week - yesterday I thought it was Thursday, today I thought it was Wednesday! Weeeeeiiird. And I didn't know that it was American Idol's finale last night, but anyway, yay Scotty! ;)

I am excited that the semester is almost over! One thing I'm gonna miss about going to school though is planning my outfits, haha! But that's okay, there's a whole summer for me to dress up.

These past few months I've really tried to change up my style - I started wearing clothes that I would never even think about wearing before, I started using some of my bolder accessories that I haven't touched in years... And it's fun! :D

What about you, have you been changing up your style?

These magazine pages from People go through Spring's top trends, which I'm pretty sure should spill over to Summer. Are there any new Summer fashion trends?

1. Fun Stripes

Photobucket

2. White Shirts

Photobucket

I have some white blouses and plain white tees, but I don't have button-downs. I need to get some. :)

3. Bright Colors

Photobucket

I started wearing my colored jeans again, but I have yet to try wearing bright colors a la Camilla Belle.

4. Trouser Jeans

Photobucket

I don't really have trouser jeans, but my sister gave me some of her linen pants that are on the long side - I was able to wear them like high-waist jeans. :)

5. Pretty Florals

Photobucket

6. Maxi Skirts

Photobucket

I have to get some maxi skirts - but, I am wearing a midi skirt right now. :D

7. Animal Prints

Photobucket

Another trend I love, but my closet lacks!

Which of these seven trends do you like the most? Have you been sporting any of them lately? :D

Amazing eyelids (and lips!)!!! :D

Hey, guys!

Happy Tuesday! :)

Sorry I haven't been around too much, but two more weeks of school and I have all the time in the world to spend here on Blogger! I can't wait! :D

We all know beauty and makeup takes practice and patience -- it's like a work of art, right?

I found these awesome photos of works of art (literally!) made from makeup! :D

Can you guess what movies these are from? :)

Aladdin

Cinderella

Lion King

Tangled (I just saw it, it's an amazing movie!!!)

Nightmare Before Christmas

These last two are some of the ones that caught my eye. I was like "*Gasp!* How cool!". :D

What do you guys think of these? Which ones did you like the best?

Have a great week, everyone! :D

2011 Cannes Film Festival

Happy Friday!

Yay, the weekend is finally here! Only two more weeks left 'til summer for me! :D

I kicked off my summer posts with Swim Guide: 10 Best One-Pieces, and I was gonna make some Polyvore sets for a day at the beach, but I just wasn't feeling it. Has that ever happened to you? Like your creative juices just wasn't flowing, do you know what I mean? ;P

But anyway, I was looking at photos from the 2011 Cannes Film Festival. So, while I am suffering from "blogger's block" (hahaha, get it, writer's block?), I thought I'd just share some photos from Cannes.

Kirsten Dunst - Looking at her photo, I realized something: I miss seeing her in movies! The last movie I saw her in was... oh gosh, I can't even remember, Spider Man 2?

I think she looks pretty here. I am loving everything about this look. :)

Zoe Saldana - Gorgeous! I love this dress on her. :)

Gwen Stefani - A lot of the articles I read raved about Gwen Stefani's Cannes looks.

And well, she does look amazing!

Rachel McAdams - Love her! :D

Johnny Depp and Penelope Cruz - My favorite Johnny Depp character has to be Willy Wonka, haha! What about you?

And Penelope Cruz = wow!

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt - Not my favorite look on Angelina, but kudos to these two for showing everyone that they really are the real deal. I really do hope they stay together forever.

Dev Patel and Freida Pinto = awwwwww! :)

Blake Lively and Leonardo di Caprio - So, I guess they're together? They're flirting?

Why does Blake Lively get everything??? Hahahaha. ;)

I love her outfit, though! :)

So, yup, that's about it for this post. I really gotta get my stuff together -- gotta plan my future blog posts. :)

Oh, I just finished reading Emily Giffin's Something Borrowed... although reviews aren't that good, I'm gonna go see the movie one of these days. Then perhaps, a post on the book and the movie? :)

Have a lovely weekend, everyone! :D

Swim Guide: 10 Best One-Pieces

Hey, guys!

Sorry I haven't been on here for days now. I was planning to scan the Royal Wedding People issue I have for a Wedding Wednesday post, but I didn't have time -- soon, I promise (if you guys still want them)! ;)

The weather here in L.A. has been pretty erratic -- freezing cold and rain, and then sunny and warm! But anyway, I look forward to Summer and having free days to hang out by the pool or go to the beach. :D

If I'm gonna be going to the beach, I need a cute swimsuit, don't I?

I've never worn a two-piece in my life, and I don't think I ever will. Fortunately, there are a looooot of cute one-pieces available now. :)

Here are some of the best one-pieces according to www.fabsugar.com:

1. Lisa Fernandez Maillot ($390)

2. Zimmermann crochet and mesh suit ($345)

3. Missoni Mare suit ($156)

4. Marc by Marc swimsuit ($164)

5. Miraclesuit one-piece ($146)

6. Topshop suit ($64)

7. Nycked swimsuit ($144)

8. Lisa Curran one-piece ($195)

9. Thayer swimsuit ($176)

10. Seventh Wonderland shirred suit ($273)

My picks are #s 2, 4, 5, 8, and 10.
What about you?

I probably won't be getting those exact ones (because I think they're a bit expensive... you know me and my bargain-hunting ways, haha), but at least I have an idea what to look for. :D

The weekend is almost here, yay! :D

CoverGirl LipPerfection Lipstick Review

Happy Monday! :D

How's your week so far?

Mine is okay - just gotta catch up with some school work, and some blog hopping as well. ;)

A few days ago, I reviewed my CoverGirl NatureLuxe Gloss Balm for you guys, today I want to share with you my thoughts on:

CoverGirl LipPerfection Lipstick.

Photobucket

Bright, gorgeous color that can transform your day and your lips. Enriched with a silk moisturizing complex, our formula helps sustain moisture levels and helps create soft, smooth, beautiful lips in just 7 days.

- Beautiful, rich color

- Transformative Silk Therapy Complex

- Moisturizing formula

Photobucket

I haven't been using this for 7 days so I can't say for sure if it really makes your lips softer and smoother... but I can say this:

The color is amazing, it glides on easily, very smooth and silky.

Very moisturizing. A really, really good lip product. :)

And the color lasts for a long time!

I swatched this yesterday... and after 24 hours, a shower, and washing dishes, I still have a light hint of red on my hand! I guess that's a good thing, right? ;)

Photobucket

And they have tons of shades to choose from!

Mine is #305, Hot Passion.

They've divided the colors into four categories: Brown, Lilacs/Mauves/Burgundies, Nudes/Corals/Red, and Pinks to Roses.

At Ulta, they are $6.99. For that price, it's most definitely worth it!

Have you tried CoverGirl LipPerfection Lipstick? Is it something you might want to try?

Which color/s did you like best?

Have a great week, everyone! :D

Ne-Yo feat. Pitbull: Give Me Everything (Tonight)

Hi, everyone!

I hope you all had a good weekend!

Just wanted to share the song that's been stuck in my head for the past week:

Ne-Yo feat. Pitbull: Give Me Everything (Tonight)

I know part of the message isn't all that great, but it's soooooo catchy!!!

What do you think of this song? Which song is stuck in your head right now?

CoverGirl NatureLuxe Gloss Balm

Happy Friday! :D

I mentioned on my post before this that my original post from Wednesday was deleted along with your lovely comments! I hope Blogger can restore it, but for now, I posted it again, you can check out my previous post if you want to see it. :)

Anyways, I've been wanting to get a colored lip balm for the longest time, but I never got around to it and I also didn't know which brand was best. I've had a good experience with my CoverGirl products, so I decided to try

CoverGirl NatureLuxe Gloss Balm.

Photobucket

Get the sheer color and shine of a gloss with the soft and lightweight feel of SPF 15 balm. Fortified with mango and shea butter, this feel-good formula leaves your lips feeling decadent and delicious.
- Luxurious, sheer color with a hint of shine
- Contains decadent mango and shea butter
- Soft, lightweight feel
- SPF 15

How to apply:
- Lightly pucker your lips and apply gloss generously, working from the inside out. Be sure not to apply outside your lip line.
- Place a folded tissue between pressed lips to remove excess and prevent sticking.

I know it's pretty common sense how to put on lip balm, but I just thought I'd add that on here. :)
I usually put my regular lip balm on before this gloss balm - that way, it glides on easier. And I've also noticed that it makes the color pop out more.

I've read reviews where people were disappointed because it came on clear. I didn't have that problem - there was color for me (probably because I put my regular lip balm first) and the tint also lasted for about three hours.

Here is a swatch:

Photobucket

That's two swipes. It really is very sheer, but there is color - it's not plain and colorless.
If you're looking for a balm that will give you lipstick-like color, then this isn't it. But if you just want a balm that will give you tint, this is a good product.

I am happy with this product, and I definitely want to buy another one when I'm finished with mine. I want to try other colors. :)

Another thing I love about this - it smells great! And if I need to moisturize my lips in class, I can easily reach in to my bag and put this on. No need to open a lid, and dip my finger in to get balm (don't get me wrong though, I love my Rosebud Strawberry Salve!).

My lips get moisturized and I get some color, without worrying if I went over my lip line! :)

At Ulta, these are $6.99... but again, they are probably cheaper at your favorite drugstore.
For the price, I think it's worth giving it a try just to see if you'll like it or not. Even if you end up not liking it that much, it won't be a waste because you will get use out of it. Even if the color may not be enough for you, it really is a good lip balm.

And there are soooooo many colors to choose from!

Photobucket
Mine is Anemone (225).
They also have them in Tulip (205), Thistle (210), Hibiscus (215), Peony (220), Coral (230), Grenache (235), Muscat (240), Pinot (245), Cabernet (250), Marble (255), Clay (260), Sandstone (265), Spice (270), Cinnamon (275), and Clove (280).

16 colors! :D
*You can check out www.covergirl.com to see the actual colors.*

Just another thought, I'm guessing that the darker the color you pick, the more color you're gonna get.
Makes sense, right? :)

Have you tried CoverGirl NatureLuxe Gloss Balm? Do you like it? Thoughts?
Is it something you might want to try?

Have a lovely weekend, everyone! :D

Grrrr, Blogger + Wishlist: Jeweled Sandals

Happy Friday! :D

I haven't been around Blogger today, but I'm sure you all know about how Blogger was under maintenance yesterday... did you guys lose your last post?

I did -- I lost Wednesday's post and all the comments on it. :(

But anyway, here is the post that got deleted just in case some of you might want to see it:

Photobucket

I was just saying how once Summer starts I am gonna go look for jeweled sandals.

I really like the Valentino one, but it's sooooooo expensive! $1,195?!

And I also shared what I'm doing in school right now, thanks to those who wished me good luck! :D

So yup, I think that's about it. :)

L'Oreal EverPure Review

Happy Tuesday!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! How did you celebrate Mother’s Day?

A few months back, I was able to try L’Oreal EverPure hair products – specifically the moisture shampoo, moisture conditioner, and moisture deep restorative masque.

Photobucket

Free your hair from harsh, color-dulling sulfates and salts that can wash color away.

The EverPure Sulfate-Free Color Care System gently cleanses, nourishes and revitalizes dry, damaged hair. The rich, creamy moisturizing formulas reveal your hair’s natural softness, helping your color shine through. Natural aromatic properties from rosemary, juniper, and mint energize and invigorate senses.

- Anti-Fade System
- 100% Sulfate-Free
- UVA/UVB Filters
- No harsh salts
- Natural Botanicals
- 100% Vegan – not tested on animals, no animal byproducts

EverPure Moisture Shampoo

Photobucket

The sulfate-free formula gently cleanses without stripping your color and creates a luxurious and rich lathering experience.

EverPure Moisture Conditioner

Photobucket

The creamy, protective formula helps preserve and maintain color brilliance.

The shampoo and conditioner both smell good, very energizing and invigorating as the description says. Both help in maintaining and keeping hair color longer, but with the moisturizing part… not so much. The conditioner does moisturize just like any other conditioner, but it wasn’t anything extraordinary. And even though it made my hair color last for maybe a week or so than normal, I didn’t see any brilliance in my hair.

My 3 fl. Oz. (89mL) shampoo and conditioner lasted for about a month or so, and I used them every other day. How long it would last depends on how often you use it.

EverPure Moisture Deep Restorative Masque

Photobucket

The powerful moisturizing cream restores and deeply nourishes for soft, shiny hair.

This masque works exactly as described. It leaves my hair soft and shiny. Out of the three, this one worked the best for me. And the thing I loved the most about it is a little goes a long way – I’ve had mine (1.7 fl. Oz./ 50mL) for a couple of months now, and I still have about one half left (but of course, I don’t use it everyday, it still depends on how often you use it).

The box says “Exclusively for color treated hair”, so I am guessing it probably means it’s not advisable for those who do not dye their hair to use it. Based on my experience with these products, however, I think that you can still use the restorative masque even if your hair is not color treated.

The price? $5.99 for the shampoo and conditioner, and $7.99 for the restorative masque.

Photobucket

Besides “moisture”, they are also available in “volume” and “smooth”.

Have you tried L’Oreal EverPure hair products? What did you think of them? Are they something you might want to try?

Have a fantastic week, loves! :D
