Review: Passion Savon Natural Handmade Soaps

Happy Thursday!!!

For today's post, I want to feature and share with you guys some truly amazing products:

Passion Savon Natural Handmade Soaps.

Welcome

"Passion Savon is a relatively new company in France, but Nia, the founder of Passion Savon – with her creative ability and aromatherapy skills has been making soap and toiletries for over 25 years... Nia started experimenting with natural ingredients to create unique and special recipes and replaced the chemicals normally used in most personal care products with effective, natural materials."

Why Passion Savon?
"It is a very appropriate name because in fact, making soap and natural products is our passion and we put all our energies into sourcing the best raw materials available for manufacturing what we believe are the best natural handmade soaps and cosmetics available on the market today. It has been a lifetime’s work in fact, with a constant and unfaltering ethic to make the absolute best products possible, with no compromise."

Nia sent me a package of their handmade soaps:

Their shipping was relatively fast, especially considering that this came all the way from France to the United States! :)

I instantly smelled the soaps from the moment I got the package out of the mail box -- amazing!

the soaps and a note from Nia

I was surprised and so happy to see a variety of soaps, I thought I was only gonna get one or two soaps (or three at the most) -- thank you so much, Nia! :)

I really liked the packaging -- I think it's cute, and I like seeing the soaps through the paper package.
I think the way the soaps are packaged adds to the handmade character of their products.

I still have the paper packages even if I've already used the soaps -- they still smell great! ;)

Soap #1: Arabica Beans & Pistachio (6,00 € for 0.1 kg) -

"...very moisturising, hydrating, and nourishing for the skin and combined with raw honey that has unique antibacterial and healing properties. Honey has provided a therapeutic ointment throughout natural medical history and is known even to defeat dreaded antibiotic-resistant bacteria. With the inclusion of freshly brewed espresso grounds that are gently exfoliating and invigorating, sloughing off dead skin cells naturally, stimulating and toning the circulation. A great soap for congested skin, can also help to relieve cellulite. It is also a useful soap for getting rid of and neutralizing unwanted odors."

Using this soap was kind of like drinking coffee in the shower... perfect for lazy mornings when I'm still sleepy. ;)

Soap #2: Mango & Papaya (6,00 € for 0.1 kg) -

"A beautiful, creamy, buttery, rich, mild, and gentle cleansing bar that will remove all dirt, grime, and makeup, leaving your skin soft and smooth.... includes a special natural Mango essence with citrus and earthy notes to enrich the fantastic aroma of this tangy soap... We include the fresh, succulent fruit to enrich and add texture to this soap, one of our most popular bars. Combined with fresh Papaya, (Carica Papaya) that nourishes the skin and contains Vitamin A. The Papaya is an amazingly rich source of the proteolytic enzymes. Many experts have claimed rejuvenating properties of this fruit, especially for the control of premature ageing. Also the skin of this fruit is used to help healing."

One of my favorite fruits is mango, so I was really excited to use this particular soap.
Mango + Papaya = perfect combination!

Soap #3: Strawberries & Champagne (6,00 € for 0.1 kg) -

"Strawberries have one of the highest concentrations of Ellagic acid, an antioxidant that is said to protect against cellular damage. Strawberries help to deep cleanse and condition your skin and are rich in salicylic acid, a recognized acne treatment and give an astringent effect to the skin. They also leave skin brighter and healthier. Strawberries contain Vitamins A and C... good for all skin types with its ability to balance sebum - the fatty secretion in sebaceous glands that keeps the skin supple... the fruity, refreshing zesty top note of Mandarin essential oil is uplifting and de-stressing. This essence also livens up pale complexions since it improves the flow of blood... Last, but not least, we add high quality French champagne that acts as a gentle toner for the skin, refreshing and cleansing naturally."

I've always loved the Strawberries and Champagne scent from Victoria's Secret -- it was such a delight to be able to find a soap version of it!

Besides these three great soaps, Nia also sent me other ones to try:

Soap #4: Kaleidesoap

Photobucket

I love the colors of this soap!

Soap #5: Sweet Certain Surprise

Photobucket

This one was the first soap I tried -- it smells great (like they all do!) and it has a little bit of glitter on one side (which I liked a lot!).

Soap #6: Mandarin Ganache

Photobucket

I love the chocolate-y meets citrus-y smell of this soap. And it also has a bit of glitter -- so fun!

----------------------------------------

You can really tell that Passion Savon soaps are all-natural -- made with no palm oil, no preservatives, no harsh detergents, and no petrochemicals. They are truly made from all natural and fresh ingredients.

The soaps lather well and leave a "squeaky clean" feel.
They aren't overly moisturizing, but they don't dry my skin either -- I think it's just right.

I love how exfoliating they are!
The ingredients help in that area: for example, espresso grounds in Arabica Beans & Pistachio and strawberry seeds in Strawberries & Champagne.

They look great and they smell great!
But of course, the smell won't last all day long -- which may or may not be a good thing, depending on your preference.

Make sure you keep the soaps in a dry place -- you wouldn't want them to melt!

These soaps are a lot like Lush soaps, but for me, the main difference is Passion Savon soaps are less "commercial" in a way. They feel more homemade and handmade.

If you love Lush soaps, then I think you'll love Passion Savon soaps as well.
These soaps are definitely worth the try!

--------------------------------------------

I really admire people like Nia who have the talent and the passion to create natural and handmade products such as these soaps! :)

  11. Thank you, that was a lovely comment! I know, amazing when friends do such sweet things, right? It always makes me so happy. :) And about the soaps: I agree with you. Lush is an awesome brand but it all feels very commercial and not at all 'natural and handmade'. I can imagine these soaps feel more handmade. Great photos, I think that is one of the most important things of a nice blog. Enjoy your weekend sweetie!
