Nail of the Week: Pure Ice Gold Mist and e.l.f. Golden Goddess

Hey guys! :)
I hope you are all having a fantastic weekend so far!

Yesterday, I spent part of the day by the pool reading some new magazines I got and painting my nails.

I haven't done NOTDs in a while, so I thought why not make one for this week?
I'm calling this post "Nail of the Week" because it usually takes a week before I have to paint my nails again. ;)
What about you?

I was looking for a color that is still summer-y, but perfect for early fall at the same time.
I looked through my nail polish collection, and I found these two -- I bought them probably about a year or so ago, and I completely forgot about them. Now I know you're only supposed to keep nail polishes for a year, but somehow I just can't bring myself to throw my old ones away... and besides, they still work great. ;)

I used Pure Ice Gold Mist and e.l.f. Golden Goddess.

Pure Ice Gold Mist -- I really like this one! The consistency is still smooth and perfect even after a year. The color is light copper with some silver and gold shimmer. Two coats are enough, but I used three coats to really make the color pop. It dries incredibly fast!

Price: about $2 at Walmart (when I bought it...)

e.l.f. Golden Goddess -- By itself, this nail polish is really nothing special. It's basically just clear nail polish with gold shimmer and silver flecks. It's great for when you're in a hurry and just need a quick polish - paint your nails with this: no need to worry about getting nail polish on the sides of your nails since it's clear and it dries in no time. You can also use it to add some shine and shimmer to your newly painted nails like I did.

It gives a matte look when used with a different nail color, so if you like that, this will give you that. If not, you can always put top coat on, of course. :)

Price: $2 www.eyeslipsface.com

Both brands are sooo affordable and the quality is excellent! You can't go wrong.

My nails are short, haha.
I tried growing my nails so I can shape them, but I ended up going back to short nails.
Any tips on shaping my nails? I really want to get that beautiful square shape. :)

Have you used Pure Ice Gold Mist and/or e.l.f. Golden Goddess?
What color are your nails right now?

Have a relaxing Sunday, everyone!

  1. Pretty color, I love glitter nails. I don't have any tips on shapping nails because mine grow and then one breaks, and ruins it for the rest! They look good though even though they are short :) .

  8. This is a good shimmery combo!:D I usually paint my nails every 7 days too but right now I am letting my nails breathe for a week.

I've used both together but I prefer to wear the Gold Mist alone. It's a good neutral shade for my skin tone.

Thanks for sharing and have a happy Sunday!:D

  9. Marie-- i let my nails rest every once in a while too. i normally don't paint my nails when i don't have to go anywhere. ;) and i think i will wear gold mist by itself next time, it really enhances your skin tone. :)

  10. LOL how funny, I was also thinking of doing a nail of a week too. But yes same here, it usually takes a week before I paint my nails.

Pure Ice Gold Mist and e.l.f. Golden Goddess goes so well together and you can’t beat the price.

  14. Pretty and affordable? That's the best of both worlds! Have you tried the nail clippers that look like little scissors? I find those easier for shaping though I have issues using them with my non-dominant hand.

  17. pretty colours and nice combination! :)
I like the shape of your nails and it looks like
they will grow into a square. You just need to file
it a bit when it grows out :)

my nails are in its natural state at the moment =p
I try to keep them natural whenever I have the chance ><

  41. if the polish is still good and i don't use it too often then i'll keep it for as long as it will last. i think your nails look great--love the shimmer. i just did a nail post (after not doing one in a long time) as well.

  42. My theory about nailpolish expiry date is that it's so full of evil chemicals that all germs will be killed :) I have no proof of this what so ever, but I just keep my polishes untill they dry out or start to separate to the point where you can't shake them back to normal...

    ReplyDelete
  43. I keep all my nail polishes until they start to get clumpy, then I get a similar colour by a different brand so I can try out, but I haven't tried either of those. They look so cute though! I love glittery nail polish at the minute, as long as I remember to put a clear top coat on to stop them from chipping :D

I love nail posts, you should do another design next week! I currently have my nails painted as strawberries so I may do a post on that :D

I've been trying to grow and shape my nails too. So far, it's good. It's starting to look pretty decent. You just really got to have patience with nail filing.
