SheInside: Summer Must-Haves

Happy Friday!!!

Even though I love boots, scarves, and coats (We all love layering, haha!), the majority of my clothes seem more suited to Spring and Summer. When I was a teenager, simple shorts and shirts did the trick, but as I grew older, I learned how to make my warm weather outfits look more fun and interesting. :)

I was looking through SheInside.com and found some pieces that are now on my Summer Must-Haves list...

Get DRESSed:

Dresses are my number one go-to for hot weather -- they're easy to put on and you're dressed in one go!
Choose dresses with pretty prints and bold colors = you'll never go wrong. :)

Wear this sunny yellow dress with brown sandals and your hair up in a top knot.

You guys know all about my new found love for pleated dresses, so it's no surprise that this pretty pink dress is on my list, haha!

Who doesn't love this gorgeous cobalt blue color?!
I can imagine this bright blue dress worn with silver sandals and accessories.

The Long And The SHORT(s) Of It:

What's a Summer wardrobe without shorts?!
Even though I still love good ol' denim shorts, I've learned to expand my shorts vocabulary into other styles as well. :)

It doesn't have to be July 4th for us to rock these red shorts -- wear it with a striped shirt and oxfords for a cool preppy look.

I think we all need some lady-like lace shorts to add a little girlyness to a simple Summer outfit.

It's great to have this flirty floral pair to dress up a simple white shirt -- wear it with sandals and sunnies and you're ready to go!

SKIRTing The Issue:

Even though I absolutely swear by my shorts, I've noticed that I've developed an equal amount of love for skirts.
Now that I am in my early twenties, I've started to appreciate skirts more and more -- and I love how there are so many skirt styles to choose from! :)

I don't think polka dots will ever really go out of style, so this skirt will probably have a place in our closet until it falls apart, haha!

I love how this skirt can work for both casual and formal settings. Dress it down with a simple tee and sandals for the day and dress it up with a pretty blouse and sexy stilettos for a night affair. And the color is black, so it pretty much goes with anything.

I love the geometric print of this skirt!
And I also love how you can wear it with sandals, ballet flats, or boots = super versatile!

Happy Weekend!!! :D

  20. LOVE these choices Mimi and especially how they are all stylish but still look comfortable too. I totally know what you mean about feeling like as a kid wearing tee's and shorts was so easy. I always used to do that too.
