You're Going Places, Baby! Award and Love The Way You Lie Music Video

Happy Sunday, my dear friends! I hope everyone had a lovely weekend. :D

I will be giving away the "You're going places, Baby" award! Special thanks to Cafe Bellini for giving me this award. I hope you have a wonderful time in the south of France! :)

Thank the person who gave you this award. Get the award icon. Share with us where you see yourself in ten years. Pass on the award.

In ten years, I will be 30 years old. I hope that by that time I will be established in my chosen career, be happily married, have a healthy and cute baby (or two), and live in a beautiful home - starting out with a new chapter in my life. But, of course, before that, I plan to enjoy my twenties - travel, work, explore, have fun, do everything that I want to do - so that by that time, I will be completely ready to be a wife and mom. :D

I pass this award on to these lovely ladies:

I am sure all of us are going places, so really, this award is for everyone. Tell us where you see yourself in ten years. :D

In another note, have you seen the official music video of Eminem and Rihanna's Love The Way You Lie? Here it is:

Many are not too happy about the message of this video. I can understand that sentiment. As a whole, I thought the video is creative and well-made - it feels like I'm watching a movie or a TV show (because Megan Fox and Dominic Monaghan are in it, haha), BUT I really wish Megan Fox's character left at the end of the video to show that women (and men, too) should stand up and find the courage to leave an abusive relationship. And I also agree that the video is too violent for younger teens. What do you think?

  1. I just watched the video and I must say, I really thought it was good! It is definitely inappropriate for younger viewers, but then again I think most of Eminem's music is. Overall, great song though! Rihanna and Eminem mesh well together.

  2. Beautygirl24-- haha, true, most of eminem's music really isn't for younger viewers. but yup, great song!

  3. Thank you for the tag =)The vid is violent but I love the song.

  4. I like the video! Pretty violent though, I feel like it is very autobiographical for Rihanna. And that may be the very first time where I have ever considered Dominic Monaghan to be hot!

  5. Thank you fo much the award/tag from you. I am so pleased that you are enjoying my blog especially since you just found my blog and I am new to yours. Thank you so much!!!! And I cannot wait to check out the other lovely ladies you have mentioned above.

  6. Evie-- that is soo true, you can see that rihanna really feels the song. and what you said about dominic monaghan made me laugh cuz i see what you mean, he's different in this video compared to the characters he play. ;)

style'n-- you're very welcome! i love visiting your blog! :D

  7. I like where you see yourself. I hope you get there, and that the time in between is full of wonderful times and memories.
    Congrats on the award!

    Chic on the Cheap

  8. A bit too much violence for me but if it gets the message across to women in abusive relationships, it'll be worth it

  9. LyddieGal-- aww, thank you! that is so sweet, i really appreciate it! :)

MarchMusings-- yeah, the video is definitely violent. :/

  10. I saw the video, if it's getting the point across about how disturbing and awful domestic violence is then it's worth it, IMO.

  11. I really like this song. Even thought a Video might be disturbing.

  12. yup, it's time to go back to disneyland. especially while it's still summer. now would be a good time. :D

congratulations on your award. :D i know you will have a great and beautiful ten years ahead of you. :D

  13. i really like the song!as for the video clip it is really strong and emotional!i don't know about the end thoug, sometimes art is kind of hard just to wake up certain emotions!

  14. Congratulations on the award, my love - so well-deserved!

Personally, I am in love with that Eminem song. The video, I feel, is simply a true portrayal of an abusive relationship. Some may consider it too violent for younger teens; however, I don't feel that it is any more violent than so many of the shows on TV nowadays. While it would have been nice to see Megan leave in the end; in abusive relationships, it sometimes takes years for the woman to leave - if ever; therefore, I think it was accurate. If not a bit disturbing. :/

  15. I like the sound of the song but not the message..but then again it's showing the reality of a violent relationship which eminem is so good at portraying LOL

  16. Thank You Mimi! You’re awesome, I appreciate all the kind comments you leave me. I can’t ask for more of a blogger friend! 8D

The song I love, but the music vid is kinda harsh.

Taj Acosta-- thank you! have a fab week too!

  20. Congratulations with the award! I actually really like this video. Just because i think it's really powerful although I do agree that it's pretty violent for younger viewers. And in a weird way, I really think Megan Fox looks pretty in the video. hahaha.

  21. i find it a bit ironic, given the fact that rihanna was in an abusive relationship before..but must say, it is a very well made, creative video..

  22. Congrats on your award! Love your blog!
sorry for the slow response blogger is not emailing me any kind of notifications.

  23. It has been so long since I've watched a video and I have to say, I liked it a lot. They were both pretty abusive and dysfunctional, but it went well with the song. I like videos where it seems like a movie.

  24. Congratulations Mimi! and i gotta say, i really like the music video for Love the way you lie:D

  25. That sounds like a good plan, Mimi!:D I wish you all the best, congratulations on your award!:D

The content of the video and song is very sensitive.. but then again, that's Eminem.

  26. Breee-- you know what, she does look pretty in this video. newly wed glow, maybe? ;)

StuddedLilly-- true! i think the video is actually based on the relationship between eminem and his ex-wife.
