East vs. West: What's your style?

Hi, everyone! :D

When we say East vs. West, these are the things that come to my mind:

Boston Celtics vs. Los Angeles Lakers, New York City vs. Los Angeles, Gossip Girl vs. 90210, The City vs. The Hills...

What comes to your mind? What about when it comes to style?

I went on www.hm.com to try out their Fashion Studio application and made three East coast ensembles and three West coast outfits. :D

East:

1. New Yorkers' ensembles are devised to carry us from work to play.

2. The city's style is made up of Wall Street business, punk, prep, and ladylike elegance.

3. NYC Chic is effortless and off-the-cuff, with enough layers to face the fickle elements.

West:

1. The California boho look is all about styling yourself by instinct rather than trends.

2. There's less emphasis on appearing immaculate - undone hair and makeup can look amazing.

3. ... isn't afraid to look playful and different, and it works in her favor.

Since I live in Los Angeles, I think my style tends to lean more towards the West coast style, of course. But I also like to add a bit of East coast flair - especially during Winter. :)

    My style is definitely more East Coast but I've been reading and following quite a few West Coast blogs and they are starting to influence my style.

    Great idea about using H&M to make some outfits up! I'd say I prefer the West since it just seems more effortless and more boho-chic!

    I like both styles, but I kinda lean toward NYC. I would like to dress more LA, but my job does not permit it.

    Definitely East Coast! Makes sense - I've been living here all my life.

    Though during the (very short) summer months, some West Coast influence creeps up, mostly in the colors.

    miz-- east coast creeps into my style through colors too! i tend to wear a lot of blacks, dark blues, gray, etc. during winter. ;)

    Despite the fact that I currently live in the West Coast; I'm originally from the East coast and feel that my style identifies more with that aesthetic. :)

    I definitely can identify better with the east coast style, as I live there. I actually find that I prefer east-cost style as well... seems to have a bit more contrast and edge.
