I was ecstatic when I saw that my sister gave me a new foundation for my birthday. My MAC foundation (NC27) is now a bit too light toned for my skin. I am a bit darker/tanner because, after all, it's summer! :D
She got it in light/medium (030), which my younger sister told me they especially matched with my MAC foundation. I think it is absolutely perfect! Among the 5 shade settings, my skin tone is closest to 4 and 5. In the fall and winter, I will be able to use the lighter shades. I just love how you can customize your foundation shade to match your skin tone exactly. There is a perfect shade for everyone!
As the description said, it blends perfectly into your skin. I always worry that it would be uncomfortable to wear foundation because of the heat, but with this, it is not much of a problem. It really is lightweight - doesn't feel too heavy on my face. I think it is perfect for makeup pros and newbies alike. :)
I have an e.l.f. foundation brush, but I like using sponge wedges to put my foundation on.
I use one side to blend in the foundation, then I dampen the other side and dab it all over my face and neck to remove excess foundation. I have heard that it is really important to do that to avoid foundation setting into creases in our face.
It says on the package that you can wash and reuse the sponge, but I prefer not to.
What is your favorite foundation? Any foundation/ makeup tips for newbies like me? :D

ReplyDeletehow sweet of your sister :) oh, yes i've seen the ads for this! it looks and sounds genius :) i don't wear foundation at all, i only wear a bit of make up (after all i'm only fourteen!) but when i do start using foundation, i definitely consider trying this :)
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to try this foundation!
ReplyDeleteJillieCat-- really? i think major beauty stores and even drug stores should have this. :D
ReplyDeleteCHANTELLE-- i only started really wearing makeup around 18-19. enjoy being fourteen! :D
Emy-- i hope you like it too! :D
this is really cool! i've seen those before but was skeptical about the dial thing..but i think i will give this a try one day when mine is done! btw i'm using Maybelline Liquid Dream Mousse and it goes on the skin like dream! not kidding, i was surprised by the quality, afterall i've heard great things about it.
ReplyDeletethanks for stopping on my blog and commenting. :)
xxjess
StuddedLilly-- the dial thing actually works fine. i've been wanting to try dream mousse too. i think i'm gonna get that one too sometime soon. thanks for the recommendation! :)
ReplyDeleteMy friend uses this in her kit and she loves it as well. As for foundation tips, remember to always start off light and build the foundation to your desire. Also if you don't want to feel like you're wearing too much, I'd say conceal any blemishes & dark spots first so that you don't have to put much foundation on and it'll look more like your skin instead of a mask of foundation. =)
ReplyDeleteThis is a very good product review! I saw this foundation once, but didnt buy it coz i'm not so sure about the dial, so i got another one w/c i posted on my blog.
ReplyDeletenice post!

I had this foundation, and I liked it, but I barley saw the difference in shade. I think if they added and compartment with an even darker shade then this foundation would be perfect.
ReplyDeleteIrene-- thanks for sharing your new blog with me! :)
ReplyDeleteDizzy-- hmmm, yeah. i guess i didn't notice that because i'm not really used to putting foundation on. good point, though! :)
